The festival of Makar Sankranti brought joy and excitement to Jalna as residents celebrated with kite flying, festive foods, and family gatherings. From early morning, terraces and open grounds were filled with children and adults flying colorful kites, turning the sky into a vibrant spectacle. Local markets saw increased activity with stalls selling tilgul sweets and festive items. Cultural programs and friendly kite-flying competitions were organized in several neighborhoods, promoting togetherness and healthy recreation. The festival symbolized harvest, prosperity, and the spirit of community in Jalna.

Datta Jayanti was observed with deep devotion at Shri Datta Ashram in Jalna, drawing hundreds of devotees from across the district. The day began with early morning prayers, followed by bhajans, kirtans, and spiritual discourses by religious leaders. The ashram organized community meals (annadanam) and meditation sessions, promoting peace and unity among participants. Devotees spent the day in prayer and service, creating a serene and spiritual environment. The event showcased Jalna’s rich religious traditions and the importance of faith in everyday life.

Residents of Jalna welcomed the Marathi New Year, Gudi Padwa, with traditional fervor and positivity. Homes and streets were decorated with rangoli and mango leaf torans, while families raised the ceremonial Gudi flag outside their houses symbolizing victory and prosperity. Special pujas were conducted at temples, and many citizens wore traditional Marathi attire to participate in processions and cultural programs. Sweet dishes like puran poli were prepared, and social gatherings were organized to mark the auspicious beginning of the new year. The celebrations highlighted Jalna’s strong Marathi cultural roots and heritage.

The nine-day Navratri festival was celebrated with great devotion and cultural enthusiasm across Jalna district. Temples, especially Matsyodari Devi Temple, were adorned with lights and flowers as devotees offered special prayers to Goddess Durga. Devotees installed idols of Lord Ganesha with traditional rituals and performed daily aartis, bhajans, and cultural programs throughout the festival. Children and youth groups actively participated in rangoli competitions, music events, and social awareness drives organized by local mandals. On the final day, thousands gathered for the Ganesh Visarjan procession, accompanied by dhol-tasha bands, dance performances, and devotional chants.
